    What learners say

The parts people tell us actually mattered

Rated 4.8 out of 5 across 3501 reviews. These are the themes that come up most.

    • I had shortlisted three universities from ads. The advisor showed me the fee break-up including exam charges and one of them turned out almost 40,000 more expensive than advertised. I picked a different one and have no regrets.
      Abhishek GuptaOnline MBA, Lucknow
    • What I valued was that nobody rushed me. I asked the same question about exam centres four times and got a patient answer every time. The LMS demo before paying settled it for me.
      Nandini RaoOnline MCA, Pune
    • I work rotational shifts, so a weekend-only programme was useless to me. They filtered for recorded lectures and flexible assessments instead of pushing the biggest brand name.
      Nitin SinghOnline BCA, Jaipur
    • The ROI calculator was the moment it clicked. Seeing the payback period next to the fee made the decision obvious, and my degree paid for itself in the first appraisal cycle.
      Kartikey PandeyExecutive MBA, Indore
    • My results were stuck for six weeks and the university stopped replying. UniversityWalah escalated it and I had my marksheet in nine days. That support after admission is the real difference.
      Avinash KumarOnline B.Com, Patna
    • As a mother returning to study after eleven years I needed someone to explain approvals in plain language. I finally understood what UGC-DEB entitlement means and why it matters for government jobs.

    How it works

Four steps, and you can stop at any of them

    Start at step one
    1. 01

      Tell us the constraints

Budget ceiling, hours you can actually study, and the role you are aiming at. Six questions, no phone number required to see results.

    2. 02

See the shortlist and the reasoning

Every university is scored on the same 30+ factors, and we show which ones moved it up or down for your specific answers.

    3. 03

      Pressure-test it with an advisor

A salaried advisor walks through the trade-offs, including the case for not enrolling at all. No callback loops, no pressure.

    4. 04

Keep the support after you enrol

Placement drives, masterclasses and an escalation desk for when your university stops replying about results or documents.

Free at every step. Universities pay UniversityWalah the same flat referral fee whichever one you choose.

    Free, no sign-up

The checklist most people wish they had before paying the first instalment

Ten questions to put to any university before you enrol. Half of them are things the prospectus will not answer unless you ask directly.

    Open the checklist
    • UGC-DEB entitlement confirmed for the current session
    • Total cost including exam and re-registration fees
    • Exam mode, proctoring rules and centre availability
    • Whether lectures are live, recorded or both
    • Six more, including the two about exam centres

    Straight answers

Let us clear up the usual doubts

The questions learners ask most often about approvals, costs and how a free platform stays neutral.

    What exactly does UniversityWalah do?

UniversityWalah is a comparison and guidance platform for online and distance degrees in India. We list only UGC-DEB approved universities, compare them on more than 30 factors such as total fees, exam mode, learning platform quality and placement record, and connect you with a Career Development Advisor who answers your questions without pushing a particular university.

Is the service really free for students?

Yes. Comparison, counselling, application help and post-admission support cost you nothing. You pay the university its standard published fee, exactly as you would if you applied directly. Nothing is added on top for using UniversityWalah.

How do you make money if students pay nothing?

Universities pay us a fixed referral fee for enrolments that come through the platform. That fee is the same flat amount regardless of which university you choose, so no advisor has a financial reason to steer you toward one over another.

How do I know a degree listed here is valid?

Every university on the platform is checked against the official UGC-DEB entitlement list for the current academic session, plus AICTE approval where the programme requires it. An online degree from an entitled university carries the same legal standing as its on-campus equivalent for jobs and higher study.

What makes your comparison different from a listing site?

Listing sites rank whoever pays most. We publish the factors behind every score, include the costs universities tend to leave out of the headline fee, and show verified reviews from enrolled students rather than testimonials supplied by the university.

Who are the Career Development Advisors?

They are full-time salaried advisors trained on programme structures, approval rules, fee patterns and hiring trends across sectors. They have no admission targets and no per-university incentive, which is why they can tell you when an online degree is the wrong choice for your goal.

Do you help after I have taken admission?

Yes, and this is where most platforms stop. You keep access to placement drives, live masterclasses and the resume studio, and if your university goes silent on results, fees or documents, our escalation desk chases it on your behalf until it is resolved.

Can I compare an online degree against a regular one?

You can. The comparison covers total cost, time commitment, exam format, recognition for government roles and typical hiring response, so you can see honestly where a regular campus programme would serve you better than an online one.
